Enjoy Local Texas Flora and Fauna
When the cold weather arrives, make the trip to BlissWood to enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities. Horseback riding is a great way to get outside and see our 500 acre property with all the natural beauty it holds. Practice your aim with archery and trap shooting or relax with some catch-and-release fishing at one of our stocked lakes. For those venturing out on foot, there are also plenty of good hiking trails in the area as well as tons of space for biking. While you’re out in nature, make sure and keep an eye out for glimpses of our local wildlife. Grazing deer, birds, and other critters call our property home and it’s certainly a sight to behold when animals in other places have settled down for the winter. Back at BlissWood make sure and say hello to our wonderful rescue Border Collies as well as the other interesting animals that roam the property like Angus cattle, colorful peacocks, a family of lemurs, exotic fallow deer, and even American Bison! It’s a fantastic experience seeing these animals, especially for those that haven’t had the opportunity to be this close to nature where they live.
How About a Picnic?
For those looking to experience delicious food while also getting out into nature we offer specialty picnic packages. Enjoy the great outdoors and have a lovely lunch at one of our beautiful lakes. The Gazebo at Enchanted Lake, also available for a picnic lunch, truly takes after the name it was given and there’s no better place to take it all in. And for those seeking a quality brew, look no further than Huff Brewing Company. Located just a quick 20 minute scenic drive away from the Inn, it’s a great place to kick-back and enjoy some of the best beer in the area.
There’s nothing quite like a hot meal to warm the body and soul and, here at BlissWood, we invite you to join us for dinner at Carol’s at Cat Springs restaurant for guests staying with us on Friday and Saturday. With an excellent wine and dinner menu featuring delicious cuisine like the pork-chops with plum and garlic Thai sauce and decadent desserts like the Alice’s triple chocolate cake, it’s a great way to enjoy a wonderful dinner together.
